Wet Room Installation Manchester

A wet room is only as good as what sits beneath the tiles.

Wet rooms require careful preparation and reliable waterproofing. MCR Pro Tiling provides professional wet-room installation across Manchester and surrounding areas, including waterproofing, drainage, gradient screeding and tiling.

Every stage is done in the right order, because a problem with the waterproofing or the fall of the floor cannot be fixed once the tiles are down.

Walk-in shower area with wall and floor tiling

A wet-room installation can include

  • Waterproof tanking systems
  • Drainage
  • Gradient screeding
  • Anti-slip tile options
  • Wall and floor tiling
  • Shower areas
  • Glass screen installation

How the work is done

Waterproofing and tanking

The whole wet area is tanked with a waterproof system before tiling, including corners, joints and pipe penetrations where leaks usually start.

Drainage

The drain position and type are chosen to suit the room and the tiles, whether that is a linear channel or a central drain.

Gradient screeding

The floor is screeded to an even fall towards the drain, so water clears quickly and does not pool.

Tile selection and anti-slip options

Floor tiles in a wet room need grip when wet. We can advise on anti-slip finishes and on tile sizes that work with the fall of the floor.

Screens and finishing

Glass screens are fitted once tiling is complete, followed by grouting and silicone to seal every edge.
